Cancer and its treatment have the potential to affect both physical appearance and self-esteem. As part of the Crozer Regional Cancer Center's commitment to treating the whole person, Positively You was established to assist patients deal with changes in body image during and after treatment.
Specialists meet with patients privately to assist with such issues as breast forms, wigs and hairpieces, skin care and makeup, scalp care, scarves and turbans, hats and special clothing. A supportive and caring environment is provided for private consultations, which are scheduled by appointment. Home appointments can also be arranged for people who are unable to travel. Some services offered by Positively You are covered by insurance, which our esthetic rehab specialist can help verify. When necessary, services are provided free of charge.
Positively You and the Crozer Regional Cancer Center also offer the American Cancer Society’s “Look Good...Feel Better” program, a community-based, free, national service that teaches female cancer patients techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
