The Delaware County Regional Cancer Center’s services for lung cancer patients rival those of any cancer program in the region. These services include:
Medical Oncology. Through the Cancer Center, patients have access to chemotherapy, oral chemotherapy, targeted drug therapies and clinical trials.
Radiology. STAT patients benefit from the use of PET/CT imaging. In addition, a lung cancer screening procedure is being developed, and computer-aided detection may be available next year.
Radiation Oncology. Current radiation oncology procedures include the use of a CT simulator, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy, 3-D treatment planning and access to clinical trials.
Surgical Oncology. Surgeons in the STAT program use such state-of-the-art technologies as the da Vinci Surgical System and Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS), which enables surgeons to perform procedures in a minimally invasive manner.
The Delaware County Regional Cancer Center is a member of the Association of Community Cancer Centers and is accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. The Cancer Center is also part of the Fox Chase Crozer-Keystone Cancer Partnership.
