About CK Mammography

Our mammography facilities offer you:

  • A warm, caring environment
  • Certified mammography technologists
  • Board-certified diagnostic radiologists specializing in breast imaging
  • A screening mammography program that enhances cancer detection with “double-reads”—two different radiologists independently examine your films for any sign of abnormality
  • A state-of-the-art facility that is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and annually inspected by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Caring Professionals

Our certified mammography technologists are the skilled, caring professionals who will perform your screening or diagnostic mammogram. Experienced, compassionate and approved by the FDA in mammography, their first concern is your health and comfort.

All of our radiologists—the physicians who specialize in interpreting X-rays and other breast images—are board-certified. They have also met the strict guidelines set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Their expertise in reading and interpreting your mammogram assures you of quality care close to home.

“Double-Reads” Enhance Detection

All screening mammograms are independently evaluated by two radiologists. The evaluation process takes place without interruption, in a quiet reading room designed for viewing breast images. This enables maximum concentration. If either radiologist suspects an abnormality, you’ll be called to schedule a diagnostic mammogram.

Why “double-reads?” It’s simple: it is better to have two radiologists look at your screening mammogram films than one. Studies have shown that a double-read enhances cancer detection, and Crozer’s own analysis supports that.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

The Women’s Imaging Centers at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Springfield Hospital, Taylor Hospital and Media Medical Imaging are equipped to serve you. Accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the facilities must pass an annual inspection by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). That’s important to know when you are deciding where to have your mammogram.

Other Services

Besides mammography, our facilities also have breast imaging suites offering:

  • Breast ultrasound
  • Breast cyst aspiration
  • Needle localization
  • Core biopsy
