The Crozer Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility Center is internationally-renowned for solving very complex and difficult fertility problems.
The center treats essentially all reproductive abnormalities relating to infertility in men and women, and provides patients with the full-spectrum of assisted reproductive technology care, all under one roof.
The Crozer Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility Center is among just a few medical centers in the world to offer autologous endometrial coculture - a rare in-vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure that uses a woman's own cells to simulate a nutrient-rich environment where embryos develop.
The Center also performs Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), a state-of-the-art procedure offered in conjunction with IVF that permits genetic testing on the resulting embryos prior to transfer. This procedure offers new hope to patients that are of advanced maternal age, have a history of recurrent miscarriage, recurrent IVF failure, male factor infertility and known family genetic abnormalities or diseases.
PGD is performed as part of an IVF cycle where multiple eggs are produced, retrieved from the ovaries and fertilized with the partner's sperm. At their earliest stage of development, one or two cells are removed from each embryo through a procedure called embryo biopsy. These cells are analyzed to determine which are free of genetic abnormalities.
