Moms in Motion

Moms in Motion Program Helps Pregnant Women, New Moms Stay Fit and Active

For pregnant women, staying active can help relieve many of pregnancy’s discomforts as well as help ease the physical demands of labor and delivery. Exercising after pregnancy can also help new moms relieve stress and regain their pre-pregnancy fitness. For these reasons and more, Crozer-Keystone’s Healthplex® Sports Club in Springfield proudly offers the Moms in Motion program.

Moms in Motion is a unique program that allows moms-to-be and new mothers to participate in supervised exercise classes at the HealthplexÒ Sports Club. Both land-based and aquatic classes are available to help women remain fit during and after giving birth. Participants can also bond with other women going through the same experiences.

Moms in Motion offers the following classes:

  • Struttin’ Strollers: Moms can bring their infants or toddlers in strollers to this class, which combines cardiovascular exercise and strength training.

  • Gentle Mom Pilates: For prenatal mothers, this class is conducted in a calm environment and helps to strengthen pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort.

  • Mom and Baby: Moms do light stretching, strengthening and low-impact aerobic exercises while holding their babies in the carriers worn on their chests.

  • Fit for 2: Combines a cardiovascular interval workout with a circuit weight routine to help both pre- and postnatal women increase stamina, strength and endurance.

  • Aqua Mom: A low-impact class held in the club’s heated therapy pool.
