We offer a variety of maternal/child health education classes to help families prepare for the birth and care of an infant. Offerings vary by site, and classes include information on:
- Pregnancy
- Maternity exercise before and after birth
- Prepared childbirth, including non-medicated methods of promoting comfort, as well as medications, anesthesia and other medical procedures
- Infant/child first aid, CPR and safety
- Nurturing your newborn – baby care and parenting information for prospective parents and adoptive parents
- Breastfeeding preparation prior to delivery
- Sibling preparation – age 3 years and up
- Childbirth refresher courses – for those with other children who want to review information regarding labor and birth
- Cesarean preparation class
- Vaginal birth after cesarean birth (VBAC)
