Jose Maceda, M.D., has been named chief of the Division of Urogynecology at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Fellowship trained in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology), Maceda specializes in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders, which affect approximately 50 percent of all women.
“We are very pleased to have someone with Dr. Maceda’s experience and talents join Crozer-Keystone Health System,” says Joan K. Richards, chief operating officer of Crozer-Keystone Health System and president of CKHS Hospitals. “He is ideally qualified to lead our efforts to offer comprehensive, specialty services to women.”
New to the health system, Maceda recently completed his fellowship training in Urogynecology at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind., where he also obtained a master’s degree in Clinical Research. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as well as a fellowship in Urogynecology at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Maceda offers women with pelvic floor disorders comprehensive evaluation and treatment with a variety of therapies for pelvic floor disorders. These disorders, which consist primarily of urinary incontinence and vaginal prolapse, may significantly decrease a woman’s quality of life and relationships with others.
“With the addition of Dr. Maceda to the medical staff, we are now able to offer the specialty of urogynecology at Crozer,” says Joseph Saunders, chief operating officer of Crozer-Chester Medical Center and CKHS vice president. “This is part of our ongoing commitment to provide high-quality, comprehensive care close to home.”
