The HealthplexÒ Sports Club Helps Members
'Lose It' This Winter

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 2006

SPRINGFIELD -  New Year’s Day will signal the start of many resolutions, a large percentage of which center around weight-loss and fitness. This winter, the HealthplexÒ Sports Club will kick off a program tailored exclusively to those looking to keep that resolution, and begin or renew an exercise program, with “I Lost It at the Club!” Coordinated by the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), “I Lost it at the Club!” is an eight-week motivational weight-loss program.

“Our club staff is extremely excited about this program,” said Kerry Welch, fitness director of the HealthplexÒ. “For many of our members, the start of the New Year signifies a time of renewal. For some it’s a time to reinvigorate existing fitness programs, and for others it’s a time to embark for the very first time in a fitness program. Our goal is to use I Lost It at the Club! as a positive, high-energy means to both help our members achieve their individual goals and to foster a sense of community within our club.”

The challenge will begin on Jan. 8. During that first week, each participant will be weighed in at Healthy Inspirations at the HealthplexÒ, the club’s comprehensive weight loss center. Over the course of the contest, participants will receive activity cards featuring different workouts, newsletters with exercise information and tips, and special offers for the Spa at the HealthplexÒ, personal training sessions and Pilates personal training sessions. The club will also offer special informative seminars about exercising.

During the week of March 5, each participant will be weighed in again. The challenge officially ends March 9. The person who lost the highest percentage of their initial body weight over the eight weeks will be announced the winner of the challenge in a special presentation on March 12, and will receive six months of free membership dues to the club.

Registration will take place at the club up until Jan. 8. The program costs $25 and each participant will receive a black Healthplex/I Lost it at the Club! T-shirt and a HealthplexÒ gym bag.
