DREXEL HILL, Pa. – More than 30 local parents-to-be and their loved ones packed the Conference Center at Delaware County Memorial Hospital to learn about conception, pregnancy and childbirth during “From Here to Maternity,” a special lecture by DCMH health care providers, on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006.
Participants learned about such topics as planning for pregnancy; what to expect in each trimester and when “labor day” arrives; infant safety; proper health care for mom and baby before, during and after pregnancy; and much more. Presenters included Barry Jacobson, M.D., chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at DCMH; Stephanie Pearson, M.D.; Richard Gersh, M.D.; Rebecca Gould, M.D.; Amy Crawford-Faucher, M.D.; Brigida deGuzman-Cam, M.D.; and Zanet Lester, R.N.
Those in attendance also enjoyed tours of the Maternal/Child Health Unit at DCMH, a free continental breakfast, giveaways and information from a variety of Crozer-Keystone Health System departments and retailer Babies “R” Us, and raffles for a car seat and gift baskets.
“From Here to Maternity” is held twice a year at DCMH and Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Crozer’s event will be held in the spring of 2007.
