DREXEL HILL, Pa. – New mothers at Delaware County Memorial Hospital were recently presented with books for their newborns by students at Highland Park Elementary School as part of “Read Across America Day.”
Students Jordan Noel, Dennis Richardson and Sebastian Sciarrino gave several children’s books to new moms Donna Hope of Philadelphia and her daughter, Josea Karmalieta Garcia; Megan Blake of Upper Darby and her daughter, Kristin; and Kathleen Williams of Lansdowne and her daughter, Dana.

“Read Across America Day,” held every March, marks the birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss. Sponsored by the National Education Association, the initiative’s goal is to ensure every child in the nation reads in the company of an adult.
