UPLAND - The Crozer Auxiliary recently made a $50,000 contribution to Crozer-Chester Medical Center to support its fund-raising campaign to build a new Emergency Department. The contribution is part of the Auxiliary’s pledge of more than $1 million to the campaign. The Auxiliary conducts and participates in volunteer service and fund-raising activities for the medical center.
Crozer’s state-of-the-art Emergency Department, scheduled to open this fall, will enhance the medical center’s ability to provide emergency, trauma and burn care, and strengthen the medical center’s ability to respond in the event of a mass casualty incident. The new Emergency Department was designed to improve patient access and comfort, including 49 private treatment rooms; a self-contained trauma area; a dedicated burn resuscitation room; separate entrances and treatment areas for ambulatory and critically injured patients; separate waiting and treatment areas for pediatric patients; and on-site imaging and pharmacy services.
Crozer was awarded an $850,000 grant from The Kresge Foundation to help further advance the $10 million Emergency Department campaign goal. The “Kresge Challenge” is contingent upon Crozer raising the entire $10 million by the end of 2006.
