Crozer-Keystone Hospitals to Host Cancer Survivors Day

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 2007

UPLAND, Pa. – The physicians of the Crozer-Keystone Health System invite local cancer patients and their families to attend one of two Cancer Survivors Day Celebrations to be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007.

Crozer-Chester Medical Center will host its celebration from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Crozer Regional Cancer Center, located at One Medical Center Boulevard in Upland, Pa. Delaware County Memorial Hospital will hold its event from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Delaware County Regional Cancer Center, located at 501 N. Lansdowne Avenue in Drexel Hill, Pa.

Each program will feature Crozer-Keystone Health System physicians, who will speak about the latest advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Local survivors will also attend and offer inspiring words about surviving cancer. Both events will feature music, refreshments and the passing of a light in remembrance of those who have lost their battle with cancer.

Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer, along with his or her family members, is invited to attend this special celebration. For more information or to RSVP for Cancer Survivors Day, call 1-800-CK-HEALTH (1-800-254-3258) and indicate which celebration you would like to attend. Cancer Survivors Day will be held rain or shine.

National Cancer Survivors Day is an annual, nationwide celebration of life held in more than 650 communities throughout North America. Participants from coast to coast unite in this symbolic event to honor the 10 million Americans who are surviving a cancer diagnosis and who demonstrate that cancer survivors are active and productive members of society. For the fifth year, Crozer’s event will be generously sponsored by AstraZeneca.

Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Delaware County Memorial Hospital are part of the Fox Chase Crozer-Keystone Cancer Partnership, a clinical and research partnership between Crozer-Keystone and Fox Chase Cancer Center, a nationally acclaimed institution devoted solely to cancer care. For more information about the partnership or the cancer services offered at four Crozer-Keystone hospitals, visit http://ckcancer.crozer.org.
