Department to Offer Programs for Local
Seniors in January 2008

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – Crozer-Keystone Health System’s Senior Health Services Department will offer a number of informational programs during the month of January.

 

Dining at Dusk: Crozer-Keystone is proud to present “Dining at Dusk,” a low-cost dining program that offers free lectures geared toward seniors. Join us for these events in January. Call 1-800-CK-HEALTH to register for any program.

  • Tell Me More: Am I safe at 120/80? Is there truly good and bad cholesterol?, featuring Linda DeFeo, R.N./S., stroke coordinator of Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2008, 5-7 p.m., Crozer-Chester Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Upland. Lecture is free; meal costs $5.30 and includes entrée, dessert and a fountain drink.

Physician Lecture Series: Senior Health Services offers the Physician Lecture Series at several Delaware County locations. Join us for these events in January:  

  • Laughter: The Best Medicine for a Lifetime, featuring Margaret Stevens, M.S.W., triage clinician for CKHS Senior Health Services. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, 1 p.m., Media Borough Hall, Mansion Parlor Room, 301 N. Jackson Street, Media. 
  • Post-Menopausal Gynecologic Care, featuring Joel Moranz, M.D., CKHS obstetrician/gynecologist. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, 1 p.m., Crozer Medical Plaza at Brinton Lake, Community Room, 300 Evergreen Drive, Glen Mills.

Dancing With Seniors: Join Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services for the Dancing with Seniors Competition on Friday, Feb. 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Healthplex® Sports Club in Springfield! All couples (male & female) 55 years and older are encouraged to participate in the “first-ever” Dancing with Seniors competition. Dancers must have three dances ready to perform: ballroom and Latin dances. There is no charge for the competition. AARP Defensive Driving: An eight-hour driving safety course held on two days, that can help you improve your driving skills and save you money on insurance. Courses will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, and Friday, Jan. 11, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Healthplex® Sports Club; Saturday, Jan. 12 and Saturday Jan. 19, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Classrooms A & B of Taylor Hospital; and Tuesday, Jan. 29, and Thursday, Jan. 31, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Crozer Medical Plaza at Brinton Lake. and. Cost of the course is $10, with check made payable to AARP. To register, call Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services at (610) 338-2729.

 

CKHS Support Groups: CKHS offers Support Groups for a variety of conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, cancer, diabetes and more. For more information or to register for a support group, call 1-800-CKHS-KEY (1-800-254-7539).
