1-866-95-PULSE: New Way to Schedule
Cardiac Tests at CKHS Hospitals

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 2007

Upland, Pa. - Crozer-Keystone recently introduced new services that make it easier for members of the community and physician offices to schedule cardiac-related tests at Crozer-Keystone hospitals.

Anyone can call a toll-free number, 1-866-95-PULSE (1-866-957-8573), 24 hours a day to speak to a live person to make an appointment request at the location of their choice: Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Springfield Hospital or Taylor Hospital. A form has also been added to the Crozer-Keystone website at http://ckheart.crozer.org to allow users to make an appointment request online.

The new phone line and web form can be used to schedule appointments for the following tests: electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), holter monitoring, echocardiogram, Doppler echocardiogram, stress echocardiogram, treadmill exercise study or nuclear stress testing (dobutamine or persantine).

During weekdays, callers will be connected to a cardiac scheduler who will work to provide a timely appointment. On nights and weekends, callers can submit their request to a live attendant, and someone will call them back on the next business day to schedule the appointment. Online requests will receive a response by the next business day. Callers are reminded to have their physician prescription and insurance referral ready when they call or submit their online request.

“The first step to providing proper cardiac care is to obtain an accurate diagnosis. By introducing this new phone number and web form, we aim to make it as easy as possible for physician offices and members of our community to access our outstanding clinical services,” says Lynne Brooks, director of Cardiac Business Development for Crozer-Keystone.

These new services represent another example of Crozer-Keystone’s commitment to improved patient access to services. Within the past year, Crozer-Keystone has introduced similar methods for allowing scheduling medical imaging appointments at health system locations (1-866-5-CK-XRAY or http://ckimaging.crozer.org) and for scheduling muscuoloskeletal appointments with Crozer-Keystone Human Motion Institute physicians (1-877-CK-MOTION or http://ckhshmi.crozer.org).
