Media, Pa. - Two new medical practices — Crozer Medical Associates and the Center for Geriatric Medicine — began treating patients this month at Media Medical Plaza, Crozer-Keystone’s outpatient medical facility located at 200 E. State Street in Media.
Crozer Medical Associates (CMA) is made up of board-certified internal medicine physicians who are dedicated to working with patients to provide the best care possible. The practice is committed to meeting the primary health care needs of males and females over age 16. As a multi-physician practice, CMA provides the unique opportunity to apply a team approach to care.
CMA physicians treating patients at Media Medical Plaza include Dina Capalongo, D.O., David Lainoff, M.D., Ashish Rana, M.D., Karen Scoles, M.D., Susan Williams, M.D. and Paul Woolf, M.D. (endocrinology only). Capalongo is also director of the health system’s Transitional Residency Program; Rana is also director of the health system’s Internal Medicine Residency Program; Williams is also director of Medical Education; and Woolf is also chairman of the Department of Medicine at Crozer.
CMA, which also has an office at University Technology Park I in Chester, will no longer provide services at Springfield Hospital.
“We’re glad to be part of the growth and development of Media Medical Plaza, where our patients can receive a range of services in one location. We look forward to greeting new patients from the Media area in our new office, as well as treating our existing patients who may prefer to come to this location,” Williams says.
The Center for Geriatric Medicine uses a team approach to provide specialized health care for seniors and their caregivers. The center’s board-certified physicians treat seniors with complex medical needs, such as Alzheimer’s, as well as healthy seniors who want to stay active and well.
The center also offers GEM (Geriatric Evaluation and Management) consultations. GEM is a comprehensive assessment of a senior’s health provided by a team of specialists, including a board-certified geriatrician and a social worker. Following a consultation, the team communicates with the patient’s primary care physician to create a treatment plan.
The Center’s physicians include Deborah Kahn, M.D., Michael Srulevich, D.O., and William Zirker, M.D., chief of the Division of Geriatrics at Crozer. The practice also treats patients at offices at University Technology Park I in Chester and Crozer-Chester Medical Center. They no longer maintain an office at Springfield Hospital.
“We’re very excited to be treating patients at Media Medical Plaza. We hope that the people of Media will embrace our convenient location and the range of services we bring to the senior population,” Zirker says.
