Department to Offer Programs for
Local Residents in December

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – Crozer-Keystone Health System’s Senior Health Services Department will offer a number of informational programs during the month of December.

 

Dining at Dusk: Crozer-Keystone is proud to present “Dining at Dusk,” a low-cost dining program that offers free lectures geared toward seniors. Join us for these events in December:  

  • Fashion Through the Ages, featuring a representative of CKHS Senior Health Services. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Delaware County Memorial Hospital Cafeteria, 501 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill. Lecture is free; meal costs $5.30 and includes entrée, roll, choice of two sides, dessert and a fountain drink.
  • Keeping Your Holiday Memories Alive, featuring Barbara Alexis Looby, MSWAC, administrative director of CKHS Senior Health Services. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 5-7 p.m., Taylor Hospital Cafeteria, 175 E. Chester Pike, Ridley Park. Lecture is free; meal costs $5.30 and includes entrée, choice of two sides, fountain drink, bread and dessert.

Physician Lecture Series: Senior Health Services offers the Physician Lecture Series at several Delaware County locations. Join us for these events in December:  

  • Keeping Your Holiday Memories Alive, featuring Barbara Alexis Looby, MSWAC, administrative director of CKHS Senior Health Services. Thursday, Dec. 13, 7 p.m., Media Borough Hall, Mansion Parlor Room, 301 N. Jackson Street, Media.
  • Feel Good for the Holidays, featuring a representative of CKHS Senior Health Services. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 1 p.m., Crozer Medical Plaza at Brinton Lake, Community Room, 300 Evergreen Drive, Glen Mills.

Dancing With Seniors: Join Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services for the Dancing with Seniors Competition on Friday, Feb. 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Healthplex® Sports Club! All couples (male & female) 55 years and older are encouraged to participate in the “first-ever” Dancing with Seniors competition. Dancers must have three dances ready to perform: ballroom and Latin dances. A demonstration with Delaware County’s leading instructors in Latin and ballroom dancing will be held on Friday, Dec. 7 from 7-9 p.m. at the Healthplex® Sports Club. Admission fee for the demonstration is $10. There is no charge for the competition on Feb. 8. Call 1-800-CK-HEALTH (1-800-254-3258) for more information and to register for either program.     

 

AARP Defensive Driving: An eight-hour driving safety course held on two days, that can help you improve your driving skills and save you money on insurance. Courses will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, and Friday, Dec. 7, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Healthplex® Sports Club; and Friday, Dec. 14, and Monday, Dec. 17, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Silberman Center on the campus of Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Cost of the course is $10, with check made payable to AARP. To register, call Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services at (610) 338-2729.
