DREXEL HILL, Pa. –Delaware County Memorial Hospital, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will sponsor a blood drive on Monday, August 18, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. in Meeting Rooms A & C of the hospital, located at 501 N. The blood drive is part of the hospital’s longstanding commitment to the American Red Cross, to which it has donated nearly 3,000 units of blood since 1992. DCMH was recently recognized as a Red Cross “Spirit of Excellence” honoree for its efforts in organizing and hosting blood drives.
Most healthy people who are at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more are eligible to donate every 56 days. Donors can give blood at any one of nearly 200 bloodmobiles sponsored by business and community groups in southeastern Pennsylvania and in New Jersey weekly, or at one of nine community donor centers.
