DCMH to Host American Red Cross Blood Drive

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 2008

Drexel Hill, Pa. – Delaware County Memorial Hospital (DCMH), in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will sponsor a blood drive on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. in Meeting Rooms A & C of the hospital, located at 501 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill. To make an appointment, please call 610-284-8630.

Everyone who participates in the blood drive will receive a free meal ticket and be entered in a drawing for a $50 WaWa gift card. The person who signs up the most donors gets a $25 WaWa gift card.

The blood drive is part of the hospital’s longstanding commitment to the American Red Cross, to which employees of the hospital and people in the community have donated nearly 3,000 units of blood since 1992. DCMH was recognized as a Red Cross “Spirit of Excellence” honoree for its efforts in organizing and hosting blood drives.

Most healthy people who are at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more are eligible to donate every 56 days. Donors can give blood at any one of nearly 200 bloodmobiles sponsored by business and community groups in southeastern Pennsylvania and in New Jersey weekly, or at one of nine community donor centers.

To find a time and location convenient for you, please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or go to www.pleasegiveblood.org for a listing of community blood drives in your area.

DCMH is a member of the Crozer-Keystone Health System. We’re 5 hospitals, 2,600 doctors and nurses, and 7,100 caring people with 1 vision. Crozer-Keystone. Something to feel good about.
