Taylor Hospital Honors Dedicated Volunteers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 2008

Ridley Park-- At its annual volunteer recognition luncheon at the Springhaven Country Club in Wallingford, Taylor hospital honored its dedicated volunteers for their countless hours of hard work and commitment to the hospital. Bertha Drake of Milmont Park and Gaye Kazmark of Crum Lynne were recognized for longest years of service at Taylor, 46 years.  Both women are members of the Junior Board, an organization of local women active since 1931 whose mission is to raise funds for Taylor Hospital.

The Junior Board supports the hospital through various events and the Junior Board gift shop. Both Drake and Kazmark say that volunteering for the past 46 years has been very gratifying. “I like volunteering and enjoy doing something for the hospital. I enjoy talking to the people who come into the gift shop,” Drake says. Both women claim the best part about volunteering is the friendships they have made. “It is rewarding to do a good thing for the hospital, and they are very appreciative of our work,” Kazmark says.

Volunteers with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and over 30 years were also singled out for reaching a special milestone in years of service. The following people were honored at the reception: Five years of service: Mildred Hunold, Glenolden; Shirley Kelly, Ridley Park; Judith Pachman, Glenolden; Elizabeth Toner, Ridley Park.  Ten years of service: Viola DiNapoli, Secane; Barbra Hogan, Morton; Richard Jacob, Wallingford; Joel Mignone, Ridley Park; Joan Rice, Chester; Barbara Walton, Folcroft; James Worrell, Secane; Carolyn Young, Norwood.  Fifteen years of service: Virginia Cloud, Aldan; Florence Eichler, Ridley Park; Sally O’Neill, Aldan; Eva Uzych, Wallingford.  Twenty years of service: Winifred Hawkes, Springfield; Ruth Struck, Secane.  Twenty-five years of service: Doris Kimmel, Ridley Park; Mary Lacey, Prospect Park; Joann Lowe, Aston.  Over thirty years of service: Jean Wooley, Prospect Park; Helen Jernegan, Ridley Park; Florence Rhine, Ridley Park; Maryann Pettit, Norwood; Bessie Stewart, Eddystone; Bertha Drake, Milmont Park; Gaye Kazmark, Crum Lynne.
