
Robert Braunfeld, D.O., was recently named chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.
Drexel Hill, Pa. – Robert J. Braunfeld, D.O. was recently named chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, succeeding Robert Madonna Jr., D.O.
Braunfeld, who is board-certified in family medicine, has been in practice with Delaware County Family Practice for 38 years and has over 35 years of service to DCMH.
“I am truly honored to follow in Dr. Madonna’s footsteps,” Braunfeld says. “I look forward to continuing his efforts in making the Department of Family Practice an essential part of the hospital and the community.”
Braunfeld, a graduate of Albright College, received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He fulfilled his medical internship at the Metropolitan Hospital and completed one year of a surgical residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practitioners.
“I believe Dr. Braunfeld will be a true asset to the Department of Family Practice at DCMH,” says William McCune, president of DCMH. “I look forward to working with him, and feel that DCMH and our patients will benefit from his experience and knowledge.”
Braunfeld is eager to make positive changes to the Department of Family Practice while acting as chairman.
“In the future, I would like to increase the presence of family medicine both in the hospital and in the Delaware County area,” Braunfeld says. “Being named to this position gives me the opportunity to give back to the hospital, the community and the medical profession.”
Aside from his medical career, Braunfeld enjoys bike riding and playing tennis. He and his wife reside in Villanova, and they have three grown children, five grandchildren and one grandchild on the way. He was born and raised in Bala Cynwyd.
