Wake Up and Work Out: Start your day the healthy way! Come join us as Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services and the Healthplex® Sports Club provide seniors with an opportunity to jump start their day by participating in structured health and wellness programs, while offering an affordable balanced breakfast. Participants will also benefit from the support of CKHS staff that will assist in coordinating medical appointments, as well as provide better access to appropriate medical services.
Program will be offered on Tuesday, March 3. A healthy breakfast, beginning at 7:45 a.m., may be purchased for $3 or less; followed by a 30-minute lecture, both to be held in Café Carl at Springfield Hospital. Boomer Series, Session 3—Expanding Your Horizons: Personal Development and Lifelong Learning. Thursday, March 26, from 6-8 p.m. in Café Carl in the Healthplex® Sports Club at Springfield Hospital. Has the saying “Why put off today what you can do tomorrow?” been your motto the last several years? Tomorrow is here and it’s time to give back to yourself. Join us to learn about the many opportunities for personal development and life long learning. Food will be available for purchase from Café Carl.
AARP Defensive Driving: An eight-hour driving safety course held on two days that can help you improve your driving skills and save you money on insurance. Courses will be held on Tuesday, March 3 and Friday, March 6, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Healthplex® Sports Club in Springfield; Saturday, March 14 and Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Classrooms A&B of Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park; Tuesday, March 24 and Thursday, March 26, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Crozer Medical Plaza at Brinton Lake in Glen Mills. Cost of the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members, with check made payable to AARP.
Also, a four-hour driving safety refresher course will be held on Wednesday, March 4, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. Cost of the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members, with check made payable to AARP. Registrant must provide proof of previous participation in eight-hour course. Caregiver's Support Group, Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m. When an adult child becomes the parent of a parent, it can become very stressful — sometimes individuals just need to realize they are not the only ones dealing with that situation. The Caregiver Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month in the dining room of the ACE Unit, located on 2 East of Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland.
