Springfield, Pa. – As the current economic climate continues to impact people all over our nation (and the world) folks here at home continue to struggle. As a result, there has been a record-breaking run on our area’s food banks.
Crozer-Keystone is the largest employer in Delaware County, and a leader in community service. Staff, physicians and volunteers routinely donate their time and resources for good causes. In keeping with this tradition of caring, Crozer-Keystone staff and volunteers opened their hearts for the less fortunate of Delaware County through seasonal food drives.
As spring approaches, we are taking the opportunity to once again ask you, our community friends and neighbors, to join us in this very worthy cause. Throughout the month of March, Crozer-Keystone will once again collect donations of non-perishable foods. All donations will go directly to the people of Delaware County via the following food banks: Community Action Agency/Chester Food Shelters; Life Center at 69th Street, Upper Darby; St. Kevin Parish, Springfield; and Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Prospect Park.
Food should be packaged in cans, boxes, or plastic bottles/jars (no glass, please). Food should also not be past its expiration date. Some great examples include canned fruits, vegetables and meats; pancake mix; macaroni and cheese; tuna fish; bottled water; crackers; soups and cereals. Any donation, even one item, will go a long way to help those among us who need our help most.
Donation bins will be located in the Main Lobby of four of Crozer-Keystone’s hospitals (Community Hospital in Chester, Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, Springfield Hospital in Springfield, and Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park). Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland will place a collection bin in the Lobby of the Professional Office Building. For security purposes, all lobbies will be under video surveillance.
