RIDLEY PARK, Pa.—Taylor Hospital was recently granted ultrasound accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for a period of three years, beginning in August 2009.
“This accreditation demonstrates our level of care and commitment to the community and our patients,” says Krishnamurti Ramprasad, M.D., chairman of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Taylor Hospital. “With this accreditation, patients know that they are receiving the highest quality scans that they can hope to receive.”
Because of their success in a recent survey by the Committee on Ultrasound Accreditation of the Commission on Quality and Safety, Taylor Hospital received accreditation for OB (1st trimester only), gynecological, general and vascular ultrasound services.
“This accreditation confirms that our ultrasound services meet the standards established through the ACR,” says Trudy Mazzone, administrative director of Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiopulmonary Services at Taylor Hospital. “The staff has helped to ensure that the quality of our clinical images and the quality of our patient care is in accordance with these national requirements.”
The 32,000 members of the American College of Radiology include radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, interventional radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians. For over three quarters of a century, the ACR has devoted its resources to making imaging safe, effective and accessible to those who need it.
