Teens Against Tobacco Use – TATU is an American Lung Association youth empowerment program that teaches teens to fight back against tobacco use. Essentially, we turn teens into teachers! As teachers, teens will develop skills to educate younger children about tobacco use. They will assist these children in gaining a new perspective about tobacco use as they share the positive aspects of being tobacco-free; teach the practices tobacco advertising and promotions use to deceive youth; and promote an understanding about how getting hooked on tobacco destroys youth's freedom and control over their personal lives. Younger children are impressed by teenage role model teachers and enthusiastically understand and accept the information which they present. This engaging program is a perfect match for a senior project!
