Volunteering in a Medical Facility – Volunteers are a special kind of people - they freely choose to give their time, talent, skill and experience to help us improve patient service. As a volunteer, you will play an important role in the health care team, giving added comfort and happiness to our patients. Your assignments will be matched to your skills and interests. Your work will compliment, but never replace, that of a paid employee. Volunteers visit patients, work in Admissions, Information, Pharmacy, Serendipity Thrift Shop, Gift Shop, Atrium Coffee Shop, just to name a few areas. Volunteers get a chance to: learn new skills, make new friends, develop new interests, grow in understanding, and most of all…a chance to enjoy that rare satisfaction that comes with helping others. Every volunteer receives careful preparation for their assignment: interview, orientation, special instructions, PPD testing, and Criminal and Child Abuse background checks.
