Several recent initiative demonstrate Crozer-Keystone’s commitment to providing quality health care to the people of Delaware County.
For instance, the health system is participating in the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) “100,000 Lives” campaign. This national campaign is designed to help save the lives of 100,000 hospital patients by implementing proven health care improvement techniques. The program aims to enlist thousands of hospitals from around the country in a commitment to implement changes in care that have been proven to prevent avoidable deaths. More than 2,200 hospitals nationwide are participating in the program.
Also, Crozer-Keystone has joined the Transformation of the Intensive Care Unit (TICU) collaborative sponsored by the Voluntary Hospitals Association. The goal of the collaborative is for patients on mechanical ventilation to receive six important components of care that have been demonstrated to decrease time on the ventilator, decrease ventilator-associated pneumonia and increase patient survival.
An expert panel of CKHS physicians is examining the best methods to ensure that the health system implements these best practices and creates an ICU culture of collaboration and teamwork.
