Healthplexâ Sports Club Hosts New Comprehensive Weight Loss Program:  'Healthy Inspirations at the Healthplex'

The Healthplex® Sports Club, the premier health club in the region, is host to a new program for those looking to lose weight while improving their health and overall well-being.

Healthy Inspirations at the Healthplex® is a comprehensive program that combines four key components — nutritional guidance, exercise, relaxation therapy and one-on-one counseling — to help clients solve the weight-loss puzzle.

The program takes place in a newly constructed, separate area located on the main level of the club. Although this program is not included as part of a regular Healthplex® Sports Club membership, members can enhance their membership by joining this program at a reduced rate. Healthy Inspirations memberships are also available for those who are not members of the Healthplex® Sports Club.

Here is a brief description of the program’s four basic components:

Nutritional Guidance. Healthy Inspirations at the Healthplex® will help each client develop an individualized nutritional plan based on his or her weight loss needs, lifestyle and medical conditions. The club offers the services of a registered dietitian and licensed nutritionist, and cooking tips and recipes will be provided.

Exercise. Healthy Inspirations follows the advice of the U.S. Surgeon General and incorporates regular exercise into each client’s daily routine. Clients are expected to do the exercise program at the facility three times per week. This will help each client increase her lean body mass, tone, firm, and enjoy the many benefits of strength training in an intimate setting under the watchful eye of our staff.

Relaxation Therapy. The program will introduce women to methods for releasing stress, which has been shown to increase many people’s chances for overeating. Clients will have access to a special “tranquility chair” that soothes the body and mind by using the same techniques found in ancient Shiatsu massage.

One-on-One Counseling. The most unique and crucially important part of the Healthy Inspirations program is the constant coaching that each client receives during every phase of the program. Regular sessions with the Healthplex registered dietitian and “lifestyle consultants” will provide clients with the constant support, education and motivation needed to successfully stick with the program.

“The Healthplex® Sports Club is dedicated to improving the well-being of everyone in our community,” says James Gallagher, M.S., C.S.C.S., general manager of The Healthplex® Sports Club. “With the addition of Healthy Inspirations to our facility, clients will benefit from a total weight loss program personally designed to ensure them success.”
