One of the keys to success in any field is recognizing what your customers want, then working to effectively fulfill those wishes. This rule is especially true in the competitive field of health care.
The physicians, nurses and employees of the Crozer-Keystone Health System strive every day to meet the needs of the communities we serve. As you can see in this issue of Crozer-Keystone Medicine, we are making great strides toward that goal.
We recognize that our constituents want quality, advanced health care in a caring environment. Two independent organizations recently reported that we are fulfilling our patients’ needs. J.D. Power and Associates honored Delaware County Memorial, Springfield and Taylor hospitals for providing an outstanding inpatient experience, and Crozer-Chester Medical Center for providing an outstanding outpatient experience. In addition, HealthGrades rated Crozer among the top 10 percent in the nation for cardiology care and interventional procedures, and awarded us five out of five stars for four clinical specialties. These honors are a testament to the day-to-day dedication to excellence of Crozer-Keystone physicians, nurses and employees.
We also recognize that our patients want customized care. They desire specialized treatments and services that are tailored to their specific needs. That’s why we have introduced such initiatives as the Acute Care of the Elders Unit, the Human Motion Institute Joint/Spine Unit, and the Center for Breast Health. Crozer-Keystone also continues to offer a range of unique medical specialties, such as sleep medicine and urogynecology.
We also recognize that those we serve want to live in healthy, prosperous communities. Crozer-Keystone maintains a solid commitment to providing a wide range of community outreach programs, screenings and more. Our Wellness Center, for example, is celebrating its 10th year of offering essential services to hundreds of young people each year. We also participate in such worthwhile initiatives as the Institute for Economic Development, which is dedicated to the continued revitalization of Chester.
Finally, we are excited about what we have in store. We have many exciting developments planned, including many new services and programs. Among these is the introduction of a much-needed expansion to our Emergency Department at Crozer, a project that has been bolstered by a prestigious challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation. Delaware County residents can be sure that when it comes to health care – and more – Crozer-Keystone will continue to give them what they want.
