The Healthplexâ Sports Club will once again serve as a practice facility and qualifying rounds location for the Advanta Championships, the region’s premier women’s professional tennis tournament. Last year, the club welcomed such stars as Venus Williams, Jennifer Capriati, Maria Sharapova and Amelie Mauresmo.
The Advanta Championships will take place at the Pavilion at Villanova University on Oct. 31 through Nov. 6. Tournament players will use some Healthplex® courts for practice and qualifying matches beginning on Oct. 28. Special arrangements are being made to accommodate the players and tournament officials. Some tennis programs may be affected. Members who use the tennis courts and track will be kept informed of those arrangements.
The club thanks members for their patience and understanding with raffles for free tickets to the tournament.
