Announcing Two New Treatments: Active Release Techniques and Synergie
By Karen Randel

Further advancing our dedication to providing members with innovative services and programs, the Healthplex® Sports Club announces two new treatments.

Active Release Techniques®

On our Fitness Floor, the club has introduced Active Release Techniques® (ART), a patented, soft tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be treated with ART.

Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. Mike Wilson, MSPT, new to the Healthplex® staff, specializes in orthopedic and sports-related injuries and is a certified provider of ART for the upper extremity, lower extremity and the spine. Using his hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of the body’s soft tissues, Mike aims to identify and correct the specific problems affecting each individual. These treatment protocols - over 500 specific moves - are unique to ART.

To learn more, call 610-328-8866 or visit the Personal Training Department near the Fitness Floor. Ask about the introductory specials available to members.

Synergie

The Spa at the Healthplex® has introduced Synergie, which can provide temporary reductions in the appearance of cellulite and circumferential body measurements of cellulite-treated areas.

Synergie uses vacuum massage technology that physically manipulates the collagen fibers and connective tissues to increase blood circulation in a treated area. This results in a smoother skin texture, thus reducing the appearance of cellulite.

This technique has been cleared by the FDA. Many local spas offer this service for $100/visit; however, Healthplex® members can obtain this exceptional service is less than the cost of a massage.

To learn more, call the Spa at the Healthplex® at (610) 328-8867.
