Stroke Risk Assessments
Three Crozer-Keystone hospitals will offer free stroke risk assessments during May. Attendees can learn more about “brain attack” and whether they may be at risk for a stroke. The events will be held at the following dates and locations:

May 10, DCMH, Delaware County Regional Cancer Center, 1 to 3 p.m.

May 11, Crozer, James E. Clark Education Center, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will also include a range of informational tables about stroke and its risk factors.

Hearing Screenings
Crozer-Keystone will host free hearing screenings throughout May. Screenings are for adults who have not had a previous diagnosis of hearing loss and who do not have a hearing aid. The screenings will be held at the following dates and locations:

“Mother-Daughter” Tea About Women’s Topics
Healthline Services will host a free “Mother-Daughter Tea” on May 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Conference Center and Cafeteria at DCMH. The event will include free refreshments as well as presentations from Crozer-Keystone physicians and professionals about such female-centered topics as self-breast exams, the importance of annual gynecologic exams, genetic counseling, and nutrition.

Senior Health Services Signature Event
In recognition of Older Americans Month, Senior Health Services will host its second annual signature event – “Reinvent the Three Rs...Reeducate, Rejuvenate and Rejoice - Celebrate the Aging Experience” at the Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center in Drexel Hill from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Crozer-Keystone physicians and clinical staff, and members of the community will present informative lectures, workshops and nostalgic activities. Free continental breakfast and light lunch will also be available. For more information, call 1-800-CKHS-KEY (1-800-254-7539).
Prenatal Care Seminar
Crozer-Keystone Healthy Start will present a program about the importance of prenatal care for non-medical professionals who interact with pregnant women, such as social workers and case managers. The program will be held on May 25 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Community Hospital, Southeast Conference Room.
Keynote speaker for the event will be Anthony Sciscione, M.D., chief of the Division of Obstetrics and director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. The program will also include a panel discussion featuring a range of physicians and others with expertise in this topic. Running of the Monk
For the first time, the Healthplex® Sports Club will be the main sponsor of the sixth annual “Running of the Monk” 5K Run/Walk, starting at St. Kevin’s School (next to the HealthplexÒ Sports Club) in Springfield on June 9.
The “Monk” is one of Pennsylvania’s most challenging 5K events, with only one-tenth of a mile on flat ground. It also benefits some worthy causes: St. Kevin’s Church in Springfield as well as the Healthplex’s Chester Youth Project and Asthma Camp.
