Crozer-Keystone Health System will once again celebrate National Nurses Week, May 6-12, with many events planned to recognize and honor the more than 2,000 nurses who work in the system.
This year’s theme, “Nurses: Strength, Commitment, Compassion,” reflects the dedication that nurses throughout the health system have toward both their patients and profession. Each hospital has a variety of activities planned, including:
Crozer-Chester Medical Center

Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union will present an investment workshop for nurses on May 9. Two sessions are scheduled: one from noon to 1:30 p.m., and one from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Both sessions will take place in Northeast Conference Room #3.

The Catherine Bakia lecture series will feature guest speaker Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio, R.N., Ph.D. She will speak in the Clark Auditorium on May 10 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The Nursing Excellence Awards will take place May 10, immediately at the conclusion of the 10 a.m. Catherine Bakia lecture in the Clark Auditorium.

A banner recognizing the nursing staff will hang on the POB 2 garage all month.

All nurses will receive a gift.
Springfield Hospital

Night shift nurses will receive breakfast one day during the week.

Day, evening and weekend-shift nurses will receive hoagies one day during the week.

The Nursing Excellence Awards will be presented.

A poster recognizing the nursing staff will be displayed in the main lobby.
Taylor Hospital

A uniform sale will take place on May 8 in Classrooms A & B from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A hot breakfast will be served for all nurses on May 10 from 7 to 8 a.m. in the small cafeteria. There will be gifts for all.

Lunch and dinner will be served for all nurses on May 10 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Classrooms A, B and C. Hand, chair and foot massages will be offered during this time. There will be gifts for all, as well as a raffle for gift baskets.

“A History of Taylor Hospital” will be displayed all week long.

A special recognition will be held for staff members who have been complimented by patients and family.

A banner recognizing the nursing staff will hang in the cafeteria all week.
Delaware County Memorial Hospital

A special meal will be served for all three nursing shifts.

A raffle drawing will take place during the week for physician-sponsored restaurant gift certificates.

Pictures of staff from all units will be displayed in the lobby.

All nurses will receive a gift.

A charge nurse seminar will take place on May 11.
