Hundreds of community members, families and friends gathered on June 1 at the Crozer Regional Cancer Center and Delaware County Regional Cancer Center in celebration of Cancer Survivors Day.
During the celebrations, physicians spoke about the latest advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment, and local survivors told inspirational stories about their battle with cancer. In addition, awards were presented to individuals and to corporations who continuously support Crozer-Keystone’s fight against cancer.
At Crozer, Nancy Saporosa was awarded the “Celebrate Life Survivor Recognition award” while AstraZeneca’s Sally Maday, an oncology pharmaceutical sales specialist with AstraZeneca, received the “Celebrate Life Community Award.” At DCMH, Rita Patel received the survivor award, and Blair’s Florist earned the community award.
Crozer’s event was generously sponsored by AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca is a major international health care business engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and marketing of prescription pharmaceuticals and the supply health care services.
