My career path in academic medicine has been a varied one. An interest in community medicine and teaching led me to do a faculty development fellowship at Jefferson when I completed my residency. I then stayed on as clinical faculty, and in response to a need, I developed the Gyn procedure experience for the residents including colposcopy, Norplant removals and endometrial sampling. My other academic experiences include a faculty position at MCP/Hahnemann (now Drexel University) and, prior to joining the Crozer-Keystone Family Medicine Residency Program, I was a faculty member at the Atlanta Medical Center Residency Program.
I feel that my experience at varied academic sites has broadened my teaching experience and my knowledge of family medicine. While I enjoy clinical practice, I find working with residents very stimulating and rewarding and I enjoy the challenges associated with it. Women’s health has remained an interest of mine in order to meet the needs of my patient population. I like to think that women’s health is just good family medicine and my goal is to enhance the learning experience for our residents during their three years of training. I also have interest and experience in community medicine, school health and adolescent medicine.
