Family Medicine has afforded me the opportunity to care for patients in rural, suburban, and inner city settings at different times since completing my training in Michigan in 1982. I enjoy caring for patients, pursuing behavioral aspects of medicine, applying new technologies, pediatrics, geriatrics, teaching, administration---and family medicine has allowed me to do it all!
From Michigan, my wife, Jeri, and I took our careers to the mid-Atlantic (Maryland) where we lived for seventeen years. Our son and daughter were born in Maryland and are now college and high school ages. We enjoy the outdoors, and watching our kids play soccer and tennis. Music and dance are a regular part of our family activities. The kids keep us up to date on computer technology, as well.
I am excited to have joined the Crozer-Keystone Health System in August 2001 as Chairman of Family Medicine. The residency program combines the most up-to-date specialty care (at Crozer-Chester Medical Center) with bread-and-butter community hospital work (at Delaware County Memorial Hospital). It has unique strengths in sports medicine, behavioral medicine, geriatrics and medical informatics. The faculty members are dynamic and fun, and provide great support at a vibrant Center for Family Health and in the hospitals. The Crozer-Keystone Healthplex® Sports Club at Springfield Hospital is an ideal setting in which to promote wellness.
I look forward to helping a great program become even greater, and to sharing my enthusiasm for caring for patients. Watching students and residents develop as caring family physicians is greatly rewarding!
