Welcome to the Chester Youth Collaborative's eNewsletter, "The Beacon"
The Chester Youth Collaborative (CYC) is a network of concerned residents, youth service providers and civic leaders who have been working diligently since 2005 to increase the quality and quantity of opportunities for older Chester youth during the hours they are not in school. A key part of this process has been to help spread the message that a quality Out-of-School Time system is a key component in preparing older youth to take their rightful place as the present and future leaders of the city. If “what Chester makes” will continue to “make Chester”, there is no more important priority than creating pathways to success for the city’s youth.
It is in this spirit that staff of the CYC welcomes you to the first edition of “The Beacon”. The aim of this policy e-newsletter is to shed light on some of the critical local, state, and national issues that impact all of those concerned with creating a system that empowers older youth in Chester. Each newsletter will also include resources, events and funding opportunities for youth-service providers in the city.
