The Rocky Run YMCA’s goal is to create programs that nurture children, strengthen families, build strong communities and develop healthy spirits, minds and bodies for all.

The YMCA has many programs including the Achievers Program which works to prepare students in grades 5-12th prepare for life, college, and beyond!

At the 5th and 6th grade levels, our Youth Achievers participate in meeting at the Unity Center at 9th and Kerlin Streets and cover a wide range of topics, including career exploration, communication and etiquette, leadership development and academic enrichment. At the 7th and 8th grade, our Tourist Achievers have the same schedule, with the added benefit of visiting local businesses in the area to learn more about the professional arenas. In the grades 9th-12th, our Teen Achievers meet bi-monthly at Drexel University, where they engage in regular, project-based learning, according to a career field they may be interested in pursuing in the future, focusing on intense college preparation and personalized vision planning. It is our hope that in all we do, our Achievers will graduate and leave us with a greater sense of purpose, direction and vision for their lives, supported by a staff of volunteers and mentors who’ve helped them all along the way!
