Crozer-Keystone Health System hospitals have specific procedures regarding loved ones who may want to receive more detailed updates about your condition. Federal privacy laws mandate that we only provide your specific health information to those individuals who are active in your care or that you elect to tell.

Your nurse will ask you to establish two contact people to whom we may release information to if they call the medical center. Your nurse will also ask you to establish a code word or number that your contact people will use when they call for information. The code word or number should be something that your contact people can easily remember. It is your responsibility to communicate your chosen code words to your contact people. We cannot release specific health information if the caller is not a contact person and he or she does not supply the code while calling.
