Café Carl
For the convenience of our members, Café Carl is located conveniently near the basketball courts. All food and beverages must be kept in the designated area only. No open or glass containers allowed in the club area. Operating hours are posted near the Café.
Central Cashier
To better serve our members, guests and visitors, the club has restructured the Service Desk area to include a central cashier processing station. Please present all payments or charges for club programs, projects or services to the attendant in this area. Operating hours are posted outside the window and are subject to change.
Educational Seminar Series
The Healthplex® Sports Club hosts a series of educational seminars that are open to our membership and community guests. Healthplex® members who can speak about an educational topic that would benefit our members are welcome to provide a seminar. These presentations will serve as a benefit to our membership, allowing members to receive valuable information from top industry professionals for no additional cost. All seminar topics must be for educational purposes and not sales presentations. Company information may be made available at the completion of the seminar.
Seminars are generally held on the second Wednesday of each month (except the summer months and December) at 7 p.m. in Café Carl. Seminar series applications are available at the Service Desk. For more information, call
610-328-8894.
Footwear
Footwear restrictions are strictly enforced in some areas of the club. Non-marking sneakers are required on all hardwood courts and on the tennis courts. Dark or black-soled shoes, or shoes with marking soles, are prohibited from these areas. Shoes must be worn in all areas, except for the locker rooms and the pool area. No bare feet,
flip-flops or sandals are permitted in strength training or cardiovascular areas.
Guest Policy
Showcasing the Healthplex® Sports Club is one of the most valuable ways to introduce guests to our club, the premier health club in the area. Our members take pride in showing their friends and family through the club, and we view every visitor as a prospective new member. However, with our active membership growing, it is necessary to enforce our Guest Policy to protect any possible abuse from non-members continuously using the club without paying monthly dues.
The Policies and Procedures of the Club are continuously reviewed to ensure that the club maintains the highest level of safety and customer service possible. The Guest Policy will be enforced as follows:
· A guest is welcomed to use the club up to five times per calendar year regardless of where they live.
· An active Healthplex® member must accompany every guest. Members are to meet their guests at the Service Desk. Guests will not be permitted to enter the club without the member being present.
· The member signing in the guest must remain in the club during their guest’s visit.
· All guests must present proper identification upon entering the club. A driver’s license, school ID card, or a major credit card will be accepted. We are aware that many members and guests do not like to bring their wallet into the club. Please inform your guests, however, that proper identification will be necessary when signing in as a guest.
· The fee is $15 per guest over the age of 13; and $7.50 for children under 13.
· If you bring in children under 13, an adult member must remain with these guests at all times.
· Guests may not reserve tennis courts and must present their guest fee receipt upon entering the tennis facility.
· All guests must sign the club waiver upon entrance.
· The Healthplex® member is responsible for their guest. Any financial obligations, damage caused during their visit or infractions of any Policy or Procedure of the club is the responsibility of the member.
Locker Rooms
For the convenience of our members, the club provides a choice of either a half-locker at no charge, or a full locker at a monthly fee. Members or guests using the half-lockers must remove their locks at the end of the day. Locks left on half-lockers at the end of the day will be removed. In the event that a member freezes (places on hold) or terminates his or her membership, all lockers must be cleared the last day of the month prior. Members on freeze may elect to retain their locker at cost while under this status. Any items not claimed after 30 days since a locker has been vacated will be donated to charity. Children age 6 and up are not permitted in opposite-sex locker rooms.
Parking
Parking is free to all members and guests of the club. Membership cards provide access to the parking facility for members. Passes are available for guests and club visitors at the Service Desk.
Pool
The club provides whirlpools, cold plunges, a lap pool and a therapy pool for members and guests to use. Bathing suits must be worn in the pools at all times. Members or guests with children in their potty-training years are expected to dress their children in rubber pants over their diapers.
Pro Shop
Located near the Service Desk, the Pro Shop offers members and non-members one-stop shopping. The Pro Shop has a full selection of nutrition and protein bars, healthy drinks, tennis accessories and fitness products as well as convenience items such as batteries, locks, and socks. The Pro Shop also offers a fitness line of Under Armour performance gear, a technologically advanced line of moisture-wicking workout apparel. Visitors can shop from the in-store selection or order items for delivery. Special orders are made on the 1st and 15th of each month. Members can charge items in the Pro Shop to their house charge accounts. (See the Finance Department about setting up a house charge account.)
Professional Instruction
A wide variety of professional instruction is available to members of the Healthplex® Sports Club. This includes - but is not limited to- personal training, tennis, swimming, racquetball, squash, volleyball and basketball. All professional instruction is given by Healthplex® employees. No outside instructors are allowed to provide any type of professional instruction or any activities that resemble professional instruction. The Healthplex® Sports Club reserves the right to permanently revoke membership and/or club access to individuals engaged in such activities.
TV System
To accommodate those who seek quiet while they exercise, as well as those who wish to watch TV, an FM system is used to broadcast the audio portion of the TV programs in the fitness area. Members may bring their own FM headset to listen to the audio portion. TV stations are only changed under certain circumstances.
