SPRINGFIELD – Knowing what to do in an emergency can be the difference between life and death in some situations. The Healthplex® Sports Club wants to make sure community members have the right resources available should an emergency arise, and has announced it will now offer a CPR certification course to the public.
The course, which is an American Heart Association basic life support healthcare provider course, is designed to teach CPR for use on infants, children and adults. The course also trains participants how to use an Automatic External Defibulator (AED), as well as how to provide relief to a choking victim in a safe and timely manner.
Classes will be led by HealthplexÒ wellness coordinator Erin Maitland and will last approximately three to four hours. The course costs $75, which includes the student instruction book and certification card. All classes will take place in the conference room at the HealthplexÒ Sports Club, located at 194 West Sproul Road in Springfield, Pa.
Class times and dates will vary. There will be evening and weekend classes offered. For more information on the class, including dates and times, please call Maitland at 610-328-8873.
