Founded more than 35 years ago at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, and expanding to a second office in Media just a few years ago, Ophthalmic Surgery Associates has a long history of providing full-service, family-oriented eye care for the residents of Delaware County. The four board-certified ophthalmologists and two optometrists offer everything from routine eye exams and contact lens services to screening, diagnosis and treatment for conditions such as glaucoma, cataract, cornea and retina problems, and diabetes-related complications. Having optometrists on staff gives patients the added convenience of having their optical needs met right away.
One of the practice’s main goals is to help patients avoid surgery through education and prevention. When surgery is required, the physicians can perform it or they can bring in specialty surgeons as needed, thanks to a long-standing relationship with Wills Eye Hospital. This ensures that patients do not have to be referred out to other offices when they require more specialized care. Our ophthalmologists also offer cosmetic surgery procedures such as refractive LASIK surgery, lid surgery, Botox injections, and oculoplastics (surgery to the structures surrounding the eye).
The practice’s physicians look forward to expanding such comprehensive, high-quality care to a rapidly growing area. The modern, high-tech, and patient-friendly environment at the Crozer Medical Plaza is very much in keeping with the philosophy of Ophthalmic Surgical Associates.
“Our patients are our first priority, and we want to do what is most convenient for them. That is why we aim to provide total eye care, from the most routine checkups to the most highly specialized surgery. This continuity of care is better for them, and it helps us provide the best possible service. We are eager to offer the same high-quality care to the people of the Brinton Lake area, close to their homes and businesses.”–Christopher Williams, M.D., chair of Ophthalmology, Crozer-Chester Medical Center
