The Temple-Crozer Kidney Transplant Alliance is a collaborative effort between two of the region’s leading health care providers to enhance the care of kidney transplant patients in Delaware County and beyond.
Temple University School of Medicine, Temple University Hospital and Crozer-Chester Medical Center have established an easily accessible, convenient and comprehensive program for patients whose kidneys have stopped performing properly and are candidates for a transplant from a living or deceased donor. It is the first kidney transplant alliance of its kind in the Delaware Valley.
In addition to the actual surgical procedure, kidney transplant patients must have a range of pre-procedure evaluations and testing as well as post-procedure care. The Temple-Crozer Kidney Transplant Alliance allows kidney transplant patients in Delaware and Chester Counties to receive much of their care “closer to home.”
Through this alliance, evaluations, testing and follow-up care for these patients is offered at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, while kidney transplant procedures are performed at Temple University Hospital. Previously, Crozer patients who were candidates for kidney transplants historically have sought treatment at non-Crozer Keystone hospitals and received their pre- and post-procedure care at those hospitals.
