Vascular specialists provide diagnosis and full range of treatments for vascular disorders, from helping patients identify and control their risk factors to minimally-invasive endovascular treatments such as angioplasty and stenting and also reconstructive bypass surgery. Crozer specialists work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists to provide ongoing care for patients with vascular disease.
Vascular care begins with access to a full range of diagnostic evaluations, including a thorough medical examination; non-invasive laboratory tests, such as ultrasound, CT scans and MRI; and diagnostic angiography. The vascular laboratories at Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital are accredited by the InterSocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories, reflecting our commitment to excellence and quality.
Based on our evaluation, we match the patient’s needs with the safest effective treatment. Whenever possible, our first course of treatment is prevention. For example, risk factors such as diet or cigarette smoking may affect the occurrence or severity of some vascular disorders. We help our patients understand the health effects of these kinds of risks and encourage them to change unhealthy behaviors.
When lifestyle changes are not enough to restore or maintain a patient’s well-being we offer a full range of minimally-invasive and surgical treatments. When more than one treatment option is available, we select the least invasive method that will solve the problem.
In all cases, our goal is to achieve excellent outcomes and durable results for our patients.
