If cancer is detected in your biopsy, your care will be transferred to the experienced team of physicians and medical professionals at the Delaware County Regional Cancer Center. This team offers comprehensive set of services for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and support care of patients.
Services are provided in the Cancer Center’s convenient and serene surroundings. The interior is designed not only to deliver cancer care in the most efficient manner possible, but also to soothe the spirit.
The Cancer Center has been approved by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. It is also certified by the Association of Community Cancer Centers.
Treatment
Led by our board-certified physicians, the Cancer Center provides a range of services and advanced technologies to fight cancer. The Cancer Center brings major treatment specialties together in a single location for patient convenience and a comprehensive approach to cancer care.
Medical Oncology
Our experienced team of medical oncologists and hematologists specialize in the use of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and hormonal therapy to manage cancer. They also work with each patient to minimize other problems that may arise with cancer and cancer treatment.
Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapy can be used alone or in combination with chemotherapy and/or surgery. The teams of radiation oncologists at each center offer patients the latest advances in radiation therapy, including: Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), dual-energy linear accelerators, three-dimensional treatment planning and high-dose-high-rate (HDR) brachytherapy.
Surgical Oncology
The Cancer Center’s surgical oncology teams play various roles in the treatment of cancer. Many cancers are treated with surgery alone, while others may require surgery combined with chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Occasionally, plastic surgery is offered at the same time as cancer treatment - or following treatment - to restore a more normal appearance to the body if it has been altered.
Breast Review Panel
If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, your case can be presented to Delaware County Regional Cancer Center's Breast Review Panel – a qualified team of surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and plastic surgeons. This panel reviews and discusses information about your case and makes recommendations for treatment and follow-up.
