Delaware County Regional Cancer Center Comprehensive Lung Cancer Program
Delaware County Memorial Hospital is taking on lung cancer with a new program at the Delaware County Regional Cancer Center. The physicians and cancer care specialists at the Cancer Center have a tough opponent. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women in the U.S., causing more deaths than the next three most common types of cancer (colon, breast and prostate) combined.
Through its STAT Lung Cancer Evaluation Program, the Comprehensive Lung Cancer Program at DCMH coordinates the many services for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
“The STAT program provides truly comprehensive care to patients who may have concerns about lung cancer. We have created a simple step-by-step process that allows patients to benefit from the expertise and experience of the experienced team at the Cancer Center,” says John D. Sprandio, M.D., medical director of the Delaware County Regional Cancer Center, chief of the Section of Hematology/Oncology at Delaware County Memorial Hospital and chairman of the Department of Medicine at DCMH.
