DCMH's Healthline Services, the hospital's community education/outreach department, provides wellness programs and health promotion services for the community at large. Ongoing CPR, first aid and babysitting training courses are offered throughout the year at the hospital or can be scheduled on-site at your location for a minimum number of participants.
School-based education services and programs include tobacco prevention & cessation, health fairs, awareness days, cancer prevention and our STRIDE (Students Taking Responsibility In Drug Education) program. Health fairs, free health screenings and educational lectures presented by health care professionals are also presented throughout the year.

In addition, Healthline sponsors health fairs at the hospital and at a variety of sites throughout the community. The fairs feature health and wellness information and provide screening services--such as blood pressure, vision, cholesterol, etc.--staffed by health care professionals.

CPR Courses:
• Heartsaver: This program includes discussion on prevention, risk factors and signs and symptoms of heart disease, as well as practice of one-rescue CPR for the adult. • Adult/Pediatric: Curriculum will include modules on the adult one-rescue CPR, pediatric (infant and child) CPR, and adult and pediatric obstructed airway techniques. This course is for lay persons with a specific interest in pediatric CPR. For information and to register, call Healthline Services at (610) 284-8158.
• Healthcare Provider: Curriculum and testing will include modules on adult one-rescue CPR, adult two-rescue CPR, pediatric (infant and child) CPR, and the adult and pediatric obstructed airway techniques. • First Aid: This four-hour course will cover the basics of first aid, including information on breathing emergencies, caring for bleeding, injuries, and sudden illnesses including prevention of disease transmission. For information and to register, call Healthline Services at (610) 284-8158.
