If you like to walk or run, and are looking for a fun way to raise money for a good cause, then grab your sneakers and sign up for the 17th Annual Eagle National Bank 5K Walk/Run to Fight Cancer.
Scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27, the run starts at 10 a.m. and the walk at 10:01 a.m. and winds through the beautiful neighborhood of Drexel Park. All proceeds benefit the Delaware County Regional Cancer Center at DCMH and aid in the fight against cancer. Everyone who pre-registers will receive an event T-shirt. You can also register online at www.races2run.com. Cost to pre-register is $25 for adults and $10 for children 15 and under ($30 for adults and $20 for children 15 and under who register on race day). Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runners (16 and older, and under age 15 categories). Medals will be awarded to the top three runners in a range of age categories.
There will also be a health and wellness fair held from 9 a.m. to noon on race day with lots of health-related information, screenings, children’s activities, giveaways and refreshments.
