A Healthy Traveler is a Happy Traveler
When you travel for business or pleasure, keeping healthy is important. To prepare you for your travels, Traveler’s Health Service can provide you with the most up-to-date medical information available for your itinerary.
Travel Medicine Counseling
Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure to the sunny beaches of Mexico, trekking through the Himalayas or going on safari in Kenya, you may need to talk to a travel medicine specialist who can determine what your health risks are and how to avoid or minimize them. During your consultation, our specially trained physicians will review your health history and itinerary including destination, length of stay and travel conditions in order to assess your risk of exposure to infection. We’ll provide you with up-to-date information on health conditions where you are traveling, and pre-travel advice on international immunization requirements and recommendations.
The likelihood of exposure to exotic diseases is higher in remote destinations and developing countries. Malaria, yellow fever, typhoid, cholera, and dengue are still prevalent in many countries, but with proper planning and immunization, most travel-related illnesses can be prevented. Remember, multiple immunizations sometimes require additional visits. Along with ensuring that immunizations are current, Travelers’ Health Service educates travelers on safety including current issues on crime and terrorism, as well as reviewing pre-existing medical problems that may require specific provisions either during flight or the course of a trip; and altitude sickness.
Travelers’ Health Service provides travelers with a complete range of on-site, physician directed travel medicine services including:
- Yellow fever vaccinations at our certified Yellow Fever Center
- All other immunizations
- Pre-travel counseling performed by a physician
- Medications to prevent malaria
- Advice and medication for high-altitude travel
- Traveler’s diarrhea-prevention and treatment strategies

Planning Ahead
Most vaccines require several weeks to take effect, and some can’t be given at the same time, so it’s best to plan your first visit 4-6 weeks before your trip. We are happy to discuss any and all charges with you at any time.
