Orthopaedic Urgent Care Center
Joseph Stellabotte, M.D., medical director
Premier Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Associates, the largest orthopaedic practice in Pennsylvania, offers physician appointments as well as an Urgent Care Center in Suite 108 at Media Medical Plaza.
Premier physicians began taking office visits during weekdays in early September. In the same suite, the physicians also opened an Urgent Care Center at which men, women and children suffering from any type of orthopedic pain or injury can be treated without an appointment. The Center is open Monday through Friday, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Urgent Care Center offers convenient and immediate service for those suffering from orthopaedic problems, such as injuries or pain affecting a patient’s back, joints, shoulder, hand, feet and ankles. Specialists provide diagnosis and treatment, such as applying a splint or sutures. When appropriate, staff will help patients obtain a prompt appointment with a specialist who can provide ongoing care.
Joseph Stellabotte, M.D., the Center’s medical director, says that the Urgent Care Center is ideal for athletes, from high school stars to weekend warriors.
“But you don’t have to be an athlete to come to the Urgent Care Center. We’ll treat anyone with an acute orthopaedic injury, such as someone who suffers from a fall at home, for example,” Stellabotte says. “Basically, this center is a great way for people in our community to get appropriate orthopaedic care more efficiently than they would anywhere else.”
Those suffering from non-orthopaedic illnesses – such as flu, respiratory problems, cardiac problems, etc. - should instead go to an emergency department at a Crozer-Keystone hospital.
