Cardiac rehabilitation is a safe and effective way to help patients feel better faster, get stronger, reduce stress, reduce the risk of future heart problems and live longer. Patients can benefit from cardiac rehabilitation if they have experienced any of the following:
- Heart attack
- Angina
- Bypass surgery
- Angioplasty
- Valve surgery
- Heart transplant and cardiomyopathy.
How Does Cardiac Rehabilitation Work?
Cardiac rehabilitation is located at the Healthplex® Sports Club. It has two major components: exercise training and education. Cardiac rehabilitation combines closely supervised, telemetry-monitoring, individualized exercise programs, one to one education and counseling on risk factor reduction. Cardiovascular exercise and resistance training strengthens muscles, improves heart function and increases stamina and endurance.
How much does cardiac rehabilitation cost?
Cardiac rehabilitation services are covered by most insurance plans and by Medicare.
How do I get started?
Cardiac rehabilitation requires a referral from a physician. Talk to your physician to determine if you can benefit from cardiac rehabilitation.
Cardiac rehabilitation is located on the first floor of the Healthplex® Sports Club. For more information, call (610) 328-8764.
